Taqwa Health and Relief Foundation (THRF) is a UK based health charity and NGO. Its main aim is in helping to provide urgent healthcare and welfare needs in the third world countries, especially in Pakistan and Kashmir to those who are affected by severe illnesses, disability, poverty, such as orphans, widows, children, and old people who cannot afford them. This is achieved by collecting efficient funds accountably and ensuring that these funds are distributed by our volunteers in the affected or chosen areas. Examples of our projects include:

• Medical and Healthcare Facilities

Healthcare facilities for those who cannot afford it remains the main focus and priority of the THRF. According to the Human Development Report 2007, every year 1 million people die from Malaria with children being 80%. This is due to lack of essential basic facilities such as Food, Clean Water, and Hospitals. THRF has various comprehensive healthcare plans which provide for those in need of them. These include providing free healthcare facilities and subsidised or free treatments and health schemes to improve and promote healthy living lifestyle. We have future project plans to build several hospitals across Pakistan and Kashmir, and to provide medical staff and facilities within them. These will be normally free to those who cannot usually afford them. For those in dire need we aim to provide medicines and medical service equipments such as back knee and elbow supports, crutches, and walking sticks.
We cannot do all this on our own we need your help urgently in order for us to be able to deliver all these projects.

• Tackling Poverty

Pakistan is one of the most impoverished countries of the third world, with people affected by hunger and poverty at a record high level. We aim to provide various projects across this region in order for those stricken with poverty to be able to access free medicl check-ups & treatments contributing towards helping to improve peoples health and well-being and conditions of life.

• Ambulance Service

There are many remote areas in Pakistan and Kashmir where there is no means of vehicular access for those who get taken extremely ill or in need of medical aid. Many people are unable to get the much needed medical treatments in the time of need in order to save their lives when they go seriously ill. We have seen many cases of Mothers that lose their children in labour due to the fact that there is no one available to deliver their Child and there is no means of transport to take them to the nearest town for delivery in pregnancy. We have also seen cases of those people who have an accident and need immediate emergency help unable to get it due to the fact that there was no transport to take them to the nearest hospital. We are trying to establish an ambulance service which would be available in these areas to help these people better transport those times of urgent need affectively.

• Orphan Aid

We aim to provide Orphans especially young girls with free medical treatments and education so they can better their life and once they are ready for marriage we aim to provide these orphans marriage costs in order for them to be able to better their circumstances and conditions of life.

• Tube Wells

These are manually operated and lift filtered water upto 100 feet beneath the ground with minimal maintenance for as low as £20 can serve upto 3 families with clean water for washing and cooking for upto 10 years.

• Digging Water Wells

We are also looking into providing these slightly larger projects involving digging wells which are much larger than tube wells and serve to provide water for groups of people for example a single well can serve up to 25-30 families and cost only £600

• Eid Gifts

It is a well known fact that over three billion people live on less than £1.50 a day. They are therefore in no position to enjoy the luxuries and comforts that we enjoy in the west at Eid festival times. Eid gifts for orphan children and widows as well as those in hospitals enables even the poorest of them to really have a colourful Eid and enjoy this auspicious occasion which they otherwise would not be able to, as we see many families especially the younger children in families struggle for basic food and necessities and are unable to make Eid celebrations. Our volunteers aim to distribute Eid gifts to these affected needy families and also to children in hospitals during the Eid time.

• Saving Lives

In the developing countries especially in Pakistan we still find many prevalent life threatening disease and illnesses which we would not even think of in the west.
Despite our medial advances in the west,People are still dying in Pakistan. THRF aims to provide high quality hospitals and healthcare facilities including life-saving medical care, that extends to the poorest of the poor, who otherwise would go neglected. For example £20 a month can provide clean water supply for a month. £50 can pay for an eye operation to bring back someones sight, a lot of people in the Pakistan continent suffer from eye/ sight problems. £100 can pay for life threatening labour complications in pregnant mothers.
£600 can sponsor a hospital bed for up to 400 patients for 6 months. £1,500 provides a well to bring clean water in a village and help keep away deadly life threatening diseases.   Please help us to alleviate the suffering of the affected people in pakistan. Please donate generously
